I read with interest Clifford Witt's letter about potholes (Opinion, March 27).
A while ago, I obtained a Brighton and Hove City Council phone number (01273 292200) to call and report any holes I knew of. There was one in the road we live in. I phoned the number and gave details of the whereabouts.
A day or two later, the hole was repaired. Congratulations to the council.
