I support writers to Opinion being permitted anonymity on publication.
The letter which prompted your invitation to comment (Opinion, March 24) gave "occupation" as a valid reason in some circumstances.
There are others, including the wish to avoid nuisance contacts.
Accusations of cowardice are no more valid than saying those whose details are published are attention-seekers or egotists.
The letters editor screens or abridges letters and, provided a writer's identity is given to him, why should it concern others? It's the content that counts.
