Albion boss Micky Adams has been banned from the dugout for the next two matches.

The Football Association have imposed a 14-day punishment for his second misconduct charge in a year.

It means he will be forced to watch Saturday's table-topping showdown against Chesterfield and the visit of Mansfield on March 31 from the directors' box at Withdean.

The ban began yesterday, so Adams will be allowed back on the bench for the trip to Rochdale on April 3.

Adams was charged after a row with referee Keith Hill during the LDV Vans Trophy tie at Brentford on January 9.

He was banished to the stands by the Royston official for extra-time as the Seagulls eventually lost in a penalty shoot-out.

Hill was also the referee when Adams was charged with misconduct by the FA following a win over Halifax at Withdean last season.

He was fined £250, severely censured and warned about his future conduct for remarks made to the fourth official.

A steward threatened to turf Adams out of Withdean when he tried to watch a match last season from behind the directors' box in the north stand.

"I can't stand up on Saturday because I could get ejected from the ground, so I've got big problems," Adams joked.

"I might try to get in through the nature reserve behind the south stand, but I will probably sit in the directors' box."
