In objecting to my letters on animal welfare matters, Peter Allen from Heathfield accuses me of giving "incorrect facts" (Opinion, March 15).
As all such facts are gleaned from official government sources or from the livestock and dairy industries themselves, I challenge my critic to specify which of my letters has contained untruths.
Mr Allen also makes the quite unwarranted assumption that I approve of activists releasing farmed mink into the wild - goodness knows where he got that idea.
In fact, when times were hard, many fur farmers themselves released their unprofitable mink rather than carry on feeding them.
The vehement disapproval which Mr Allen accords my letters could imply he is in favour of cruelty to animals - but that cannot be true.
