Kath McMullen (Opinion, March 12) should think again if she believes being "European" means no privilege, equality of outcome and no unelected Euristocrats.
The European Commission is appointed by patronage and, as recent events have shown, it then gives out well-paid jobs and non-jobs to family and friends.
If we tear down our history, as suggested, we become like the Taleban destroying those ancient Buddhas.
Many of the politically-correct things dreamt up to replace traditional events are drab and boring.
