I really saw red when my friend's daughter-in-law gave birth by Caesarian section to premature twins and both babies had to be shipped off to Canterbury in Kent because our Trevor Mann unit was full.
Wouldn't it be more viable to use Lottery money for incubators rather than stupid buildings and statues that 80 per cent of the population couldn't give a hoot about?
Incubators are only the tip of the iceberg. What about heart and kidney equipment that is desperately needed?
In Spain, lottery money funds the hospital system and senior citizens. I must say, they have leapt forward 200 years to our 20.
