Any motorist who has driven along the A27 between Lancing and Worthing at peak times will have been frustrated by stop/start journeys.
Bypass or not, this road needs to be improved and made safer.
Even if a route for a bypass is found in the years to come, this section of the A27 will still take a lot of local traffic.
You only have to drive through Portslade and West Hove during the rush hours to realise that, despite the Brighton bypass, local traffic will not go away.
What better than to ask the local residents and motorists their views on planned improvements to the notorious A27 through a consultation process.
Let us hope that if they come up with ideas for improvements, planners will take note and act.
