DISCOVERY: Biotech firm PPL Therapeutics has discovered a more ethical way of developing treatments for conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and diabetes.
The technique involves using cells developed from animal skins rather than embryos.
The company said its next challenge was to repeat the research using human cells.
