John Parry (Argus, February 2) writes about the "packs of animals" attacking homosexuals. Perhaps he could enlighten us as to which animals he had in mind?

While it is true some animals do hunt other species for food, the only "animal" that regularly tortures, kills and brutally attacks members of its own and other species is the human animal.

It's a pity that while denouncing homophobic prejudice, Mr Parry falls into the trap of using another form of prejudice, that of speciesism. Same prejudice, different target.
