South Saxons scored ten goals for the second successive week to maintain their four point lead at the top of the Sussex Open League Premier Division.

They followed up a 10-0 thrashing of Chichester 3A by hammering Little-hampton by the same scoreline last Saturday.

Jeremy Bunday scored four times to follow his hat-trick the previous week. Richard Harvey also netted four while the others came from Julian Buss and Nick Phillips.

Crowborough's good form continued with a 7-1 trouncing of Horsham IV thanks to goals from Pullman (3), Forster (2), Sykes and Matthews. Aaron Carter got Horsham's consolation.

Saxons II moved up the table after a 4-1 victory at rock bottom Sussex University. Nigel Hinkley scored a hat-trick in the first 15 minutes and Damian Bunting got the other.

Southwick and Lewes IV shared a 2-2 draw. Lewes took a first half lead with a penalty stroke awarded against Brian Thompson but Southwick levelled in the first minute of the second half through their man-of-the-match Andrew Skinner.

Lewes regained the lead with a breakaway goal but Lee Wiles grabbed a second equaliser from a penalty stoke in the closing minutes and could have snatched a winner after that. Lewes scorers were Charlie Wycherley and Paul Spooner.

Middleton and Bognor II beat Worthing III 3-1 while Brighton IV overcame Chichester 3A 3-2 with Beglin and Williams among the Brighton scorers.

Saxons III are second in Division One following a 6-2 victory away to Worthing IV. Rob Whitehouse took his goals tally to 30 for the season with a four goal blast while Joe Woodford and Daniel Turner also found the net.

Leaders Sussex Police enjoyed a 4-0 victory over Hailsham although they had to wait until the final 15 minutes before sealing their win. The Police led 1-0 at half time through Paul Sellings but it was not until the closing stages that further goals followed from Chris Ambrose, Mick Baldwin and Mark Cranley. Neil Phillips and Ian Johnson went close for Hailsham.

St Francis enjoyed a 5-2 win over Middleton and Bognor III. Danny Jeremiah scored twice while Kieran Dunford, Ollie Keating and Paul Shanahan grabbed one apiece.

Penguins II suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat at the hands of Brighton V. Penguins started well and took the lead through skipper Glen Ford but they became frustrated when a second goal did not come despite heavy pressure and Brighton took their chances to grab victory.

Dave Roberts scored twice as Penguins III fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Crawley III.

Goals from Warwick McCly-mont (two) and Roger Lang-maid helped Southwick II to a 3-3 draw against Lewes V.

Crowborough II main-tained their four point lead in Division Two with a 4-0 victory over Newhaven II thanks to a hat-trick from Clampin. Terry Talbot got the other.

Billypickles returning to winning ways by hammering Littlehampton II 5-0. The usual suspects, Neil Skates and skipper Neil Brenson, were back on form, both scoring twice in open play. Roger Shaw made sure of victory when he slotted home a great goal.

Southwick III won 4-2 at Worthing V with braces from Paul Selley and Pete Skinner, while Mid Sussex III trounced Lewes 5A 6-2.

A young Horsham V side drew 3-3 with Brighton VI in Division Three. Scorers for Horsham were Howard Raynor, David Youngman and Geoff Wookey.

Saxons IV made it a full house of wins for the club by beating Chichester Chaplins 4-2 with goals from Julian Hooton (two), Jamie Busbridge and Gary Croft.

Rob Harman celebrated his return to action following a broken finger by scoring as Penguins IV beat East-bourne Eaglets 2-0. Gavin Best netted the other while Neil Watkins also made his return from a finger break.

In Division Four, St Francis II and Southwick IV drew 0-0, while Penguins V beat East Grinstead Badgers 2-0 with goals from Jonathan Miles and Lloyd Osland.

Crawley V ran riot as they beat Brighton Flippers 9-0.

In the regional leagues, Horsham II lost 4-0 to Canterbury while Horsham III went down 7-3 to Canterbury IV despite goals from Tony Wassell, Indi Khehra and David Upton.

Chichester II came from behind to beat leaders Winchester 3-2 thanks to goals from Colin French, Ollie Lane-Smith and a spectacular reverse stick winner from Adam Beer.

Chichester III lost 5-0 to Old Holcombians but took comfort from fielding six under-15s in their line-up.

Wheeler netted as Brighton II drew 1-1 with Worthing II, who replied through Donal Aherne. Ramsey got the consolation as Brighton III lost 5-1 to Woking.

Southwick put up an impressive display before losing 1-0 to last season's finalists Lewes in the Sussex Veterans Cup.
