A 15-year-old girl robbed a 78-year-old man after sweet-talking her way into his Brighton home.
He answered a knock on the door of his house in Crescent Road at the weekend and the teenager asked for a glass of water. She then asked to use the toilet and when she left, the man noticed his wallet containing £60 and a rail card was missing.
A Brighton police spokesman said: "It is a shame people can't be kind without having to be suspicious but we are warning everyone not to let strangers into their homes."
The offender is about 5ft 6in and plump. Witnesses or anyone with information should contact the Brighton police incident management centre on 0845 6070 999.
