We still remember how car owners throughout the country supported hauliers in almost bringing the country to a standstill through fuel shortage because of the alleged high cost of motoring and especially petrol.
I wonder what their feelings are now we learn - allowing for inflation - families are spending roughly the same amount per car per week as 30 years ago?
