Last week on television there were two programmes about footballers, David Beckham and Vinnie Jones (This Is Your Life).
Solely on a footballing basis, Vinnie Jones caused more mayhem on the pitch than David Beckham ever did - ask Gary Stevens (ex-Albion and Tottenham) - but is made out to be a hero.
I would have liked John Parry (November 30) to have reviewed the Jones programme - or maybe he was a bit wary as Jones did once try to bite off a journalist's nose.
The comparison I am making is obvious: John Parry just jumped on the "let's have a go at Beckham" bandwagon.
As a nation we can do far worse than producing more youngsters as successful and clean living as David Beckham and his wife.
