I am an undergraduate at the University of Sussex and am engaged in dissertation research on the significance of army education on political and social orientations.
The Army Bureau of Current Affairs was established in late 1941 to supply units with discussion and lecture material which was to be analysed in weekly sessions.
British Way and Purpose pamphlets came into being about a year later with the aim of educating the soldier in the cause he fought for.
Army education was considered by many to have fallen victim to political bias.
