Sailing enthusiasts can buy equipment, pay subscriptions and find out about events 24 hours a day using a new web site.

Sussex Yacht Club has gone online for the first time with the aim of making life easier for its members, who no longer have to wait for the club office's limited opening hours.

The site has been designed by local company E-Advantage Solutions, whose managing director, Cliff Jenkins, is also a director of the yacht club.

It aims to attract new people to visit or join the club as well as helping existing members.

There is information for members and visitors to the area on racing, rallying, training, diving and social activities.

Yacht owners wanting to take advantage of the club's facilities can book 72-hour lift-outs and relaunches online.

Mr Jenkins said: "The site brings it all together and makes it that bit easier for members to pay for things.

"We also want to attract new members and make people aware of the facilities we have here, which can be used by the community, such as our licensed restaurant."
