I was interested to read your report of the meeting with Sita MD Ian Goodfellow (November 30) but appalled by his comments attributing all the refuse collection problems to the workforce.
As MD, whatever the origins of the problems, it is up to him and his management team to resolve them and not to simply blame the workforce.
I have always found the refuse collectors to be very hardworking and conscientious, in spite of the conditions in which they sometimes have to work.
Since the introduction of the new rounds, rubbish collection has been chaotic.
Perhaps it is time Brighton and Hove Council reassessed the viability of reintroducing a council-run service in the interests of council tax payers.
