Mid Sussex gained swift revenge over Crawley with a 4-2 victory in the Kent and Sussex League.
The previous weekend Crawley had triumphed 5-4 in a Sussex Cup tie, but Mids duly got their own back.
A frantic start saw three goals scored in the first ten minutes. Dan Bleach put Mids ahead but Crawley levelled with a penalty flick from Terry Higgs before taking the lead through Matt Jones, who converted Garry Hardwick's pass.
The visitors fought back in the closing stages of the first half with goals from Duncan Wood-Allum and Simon Hobden.
In a tight second half Mids keeper George Deaves made some fine saves before team-mate Wood-Allum scored his second to seal victory.
Brighton had two goals disallowed as they were held to a 3-3 draw by BBHC.
Barney Stubbs was the unlucky man on both occasions and it denied him a hat-trick.
Skipper Carlo Missirian said: "One was when we were 1-0 up and the second was when we were 2-1 up, so both times it would have been significant."
Stubbs, Graham Pruce and Steve Edmonds, with a second half equaliser, were Brighton's scorers.
Middleton and Bognor gained their first win of the season as they beat rock bottom Marden Russets 5-3. Brian Lock netted a hat-trick. Richard Sabin and Mark Pacey were also on target.
Horsham lost 5-1 to leaders Holcombe with Dom Cohen getting the lone reply.
