The government's shambolic bungling over the choice of the National Lottery operator is degenerating into farce.

It really is a bit rich to claim it is seeking more funds for good causes when it has allowed £1 billion of lottery money to be squandered on the Millennium Dome.

Barely a week passes without some other madcap scheme supported by politically correct government cronies coming to light - the latest example being the £300,000 of lottery cash wasted on the deeply-offensive Runnymede Trust report, which denigrated the British as racist. The government would mess up a garden party raffle!
