I don't understand what all the fuss is about the Brighton Station site. John Ballance, executive councillor for the environment, has often mumbled about how it will be an exemplar of 21st century development. He is right. It is a development of no vision, steered by those powerful beasts of corporate interest, Railtrack and Sainsbury's, with a few anonymous consultancies picking up some scraps on the side.
Meanwhile, Brighton and Hove Council is a timid mouse hiding in the shadows and given no say.
