Police are investigating an allegation of male rape.
The victim, in his forties, was said to have been attacked on Brighton beach near the West Pier after he had been out celebrating a birthday party.
He was approached by three men, robbed at knifepoint and assaulted.
The attack happened at 11.15pm last Monday but has only recently been reported to police.
