I agree cyclists should have third party insurance (Argus, July 21).
Membership of the national Cycling organisation, the C.T.C., starts at £15 per year and includes third party insurance. Cover is available through the Brighton Mitre Cycling Club for £2. Either is a small price to pay for peace of mind.
It is true cyclists break road rules and regulation, but so do many motorists, and pedestrians can also behave irresponsibly. It is also worth comparing the number of accidents caused by cyclists and pedestrians to those caused by motorists.
