Albion outcast Jamie Campbell could be on the move.

The transfer-listed defender has attracted interest from the Seagulls' Third Division rivals Exeter and Nationwide Conference club Stevenage Borough.

Manager Micky Adams confirmed: "We've had a couple of inquiries for Jamie Campbell from Exeter and Stevenage.

"Both clubs have been given permission to speak to him."

Campbell was made available on a free transfer at the end of last season with a year still left on his contract.

The 27-year-old, signed by Adams from Cambridge United under the Bosman ruling, lost his place on the left side of the defence to Kerry Mayo.

Albion have now recruited Nathan Jones from Southend as competition for Mayo.

Adams says there have been no inquires for Rod Thomas. The Seagulls want a fee for the out-of-favour winger, who has also been made available with a year of his contract to run.

Jones was joining fellow summer signings Paul Brooker, Michels Kuipers and Richard Carpenter, plus veteran pair Keith McPherson and Warren Aspinall, for the start of pre-season training today at Sussex University.

McPherson and Aspinall were invited by Adams to find other clubs, with the option of reporting back.

Assistant Alan Cork was taking charge of the opening session for Albion's re-shaped squad, with Adams abroad on holiday until Saturday.
