Leaders Findon opened up a 33-point lead at the top of the Invitation League after a 53-run home win over challengers Barns Green.

Paul O'Sullivan (87) and Anthony Mullen (54) put on 124 for the third wicket in Findon's 203-4 and the visitors were dismissed for 150, Toby Kingsbury taking 4-30.

Cuckfield are now second after a comfortable 87 run win over lowly East Preston.

Tim Butterworth was the mainstay of their 203-4 and then Tim Power took 7-42 as the home side were rolled over for 94.

Roffey lost ground in the title race after a surprise defeat at home to lowly Petworth Park.

Mick Webb made 71 but Richard Whitcomb's 5-40 proved decisive as the home side were dismissed for 141 chasing Park's 210-6.

Henfield missed the chance to put pressure on Findon when their match at Eastergate ended in a tie.

Stuart Still took seven Pagham wickets for 41 as Burgess Hill bowled out their visitors for 70 and got the runs in 15.2 overs with seven wickets to spare.

Lindfield got back to winning ways, overcoming Clymping's 116 for the loss of six wickets.

Ansty run-machine Richard Nicholls scored his third successive league century as his side closed the gap on Division Two leaders Southwick.

His 105 helped overcome Ardingly's 200-6, the visitors getting home with four wickets in hand. Mike Cahill earlier made 87 for Ardingly.

Leaders Southwick were left to hang on for a draw against Horsham Trinity, closing on 116-9 in reply to the hosts' 173-5 which included 76 from A.Wyatt. Street (4-30) and Russell (4-54) almost bowled Horsham to victory.

South Bersted & Bognor strengthened their position with a 33 run win over Portslade.

Simon Crundwell made 51 in the combined side's 148 with Jamie Howick taking 5-53. The visitors were then dismissed for 115, Oliver Handson taking 6-39.

Broadwater are fifth after A.Clapp made 52 and J.Middleton took 6-10 in their 70 run win over Silinfold while St Andrews' R. Ward took 6-4 as Broadbridge Heath were shot out for 56 replying to Saints' 179 in which D.Mansell made 43 and S.Kingcombe 40.

Southwater won by three wickets at home to Rustington for whom S.Helliwell made 55 and T.Osman 44 while Wisborough Green's Ben Thatcher took 5-31 as neighbours Storrington were bowled out for 178. Green got home by five wickets thanks to an unbeaten 57 from Mark Waddleton.

In the other game Scaynes Hill finished on 167-9 replying to Selsey's 187-5.
