I do not think the Tories' policy to increase the basic pension by up to £10 will cause inflation (Opinion, June 28).
Pensioners are the most thrifty people in our society and do not generally go on wild spending sprees.
It is clear from the letter from Julia and John White that the Labour Party gets rattled when the truth is told (Opinion, June 28).
What has happened to the much hyped extra spending on the NHS? Have you tried getting an appointment with a consultant recently?
As for a healthy economy, what about the massive rises in petrol prices, abolition of married tax allowance and mortgage interest relief, raised pension schemes and the reduced tax incentives on private health insurance?
The result? Longer hospital waiting lists, fewer police officers and rising class sizes. Labour are all mouth and no delivery.
