Consultants are likely to find fault with almost anything, which is why they have given the thumbs-down to the proposed Brighton and Hove Albion stadium site at Falmer (Argus, June 28).

I am sure the Albion will overcome the latest challenges to the satisfaction of Brighton and Hove Council.

The club's opponents have resorted to desperately leaking documents because they cannot win on the strength of their arguments alone.

If these tactics are the best they can come up with, they will rightly be viewed with contempt.

Don't forget the great progress made by Albion in recent years.

Two or three years ago the club was a joke, on and off the field. Albion now have a great chance of promotion in front of sell-out crowds, with quality players who have turned down clubs in the top two divisions.

The council's decision to allow extra seats at Withdean is another step forward. Councillors have been quick to praise the innovative public transport arrangements for With-dean, which augurs well for the Falmer plans.

I would much rather be in Albion's position than that of Crystal Palace, who are facing either bankruptcy or a damaging groundshare at Gillingham.
