I was interested by a woman's description of how she felt victimised by Brighton and Hove Council when asked to remove a plaque she had placed on the tree she had donated at Stammer Park, Brighton (Argus, June 20).
I recently inquired about the tree donation scheme in Brighton and while the staff were very helpful, they made it clear from the outset that plaques were not allowed to be put on the trees.
If all donated trees bore plaques, parks would no longer be public recreation areas but more like garden of remembrance.
