What a wonderful, delightful, friendly, interesting and entertaining town Brighton is and the recent bank holiday was a good example. I spent the whole day along the seafront dressed in my Maurice Chevalier outfit with straw boater and cane, and I was overwhelmed by the response.

My favourite remark came from two chatting taxi drivers who said, "Look there's a gent, you don't see many of them, these days", while somebody else said: "You are a credit to Brighton, you look so healthy". And I am 80 years old!

The entertainment, the music, the singing, the dancing and the displays were all superb and the crowds all joined in to make a wonderfully, exciting day. Bravo Brighton!
