David Lewis does not say which parts of Britain have the rudest shopkeepers (Argus, May 25) but I imagine Brighton would come high on the list. As a disabled person I rely on my local supermarket where I shop every day. Yet after eight years I can say I have rarely been greeted by or smiled at by anyone there. They seem to recruit their staff from among the most boorish people and to give them no training in customer relations. Their sole training appears to be how to take one's money.
