Four teenagers escaped when the car they were travelling in ploughed into a tree and a wall last night.

The two male and two female passengers were in a Rover car which crashed in Folders Lane, Burgess Hill, just after 8.30pm.

The car overturned after hitting the tree and a house wall. All four occupants, aged between 15 and 18, were taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath.

Police said the 18-year-old driver suffered a broken arm but most of the injuries were cuts and whiplash. The teenagers were not named by Sussex Police, who operate data protection guidelines.
