Worthing paid the penalty for not pressing home their advantage as Maidenhead snatched a 1-1 draw at Woodside Road in Division One of the Ryman League.
Chuck Agudusi hit the equaliser 13 minutes from time to cancel out a 31st-minute opener from Ben Carrington.
Maidenhead keeper Garath Ormshaw saved from Simon Funnell and Carrington before Guy Rutherford set up Carrington to score with a deft right-foot shot past Ormshaw.
Paul Kennett blazed over from ten yards just before the break and Adie Miles was later off target after being set up by Funnell.
Then Rebels defenders were caught ball-watching when Agudusi levelled on 77 minutes.
Agudusi, having forced Worthing keeper Lee Bray to concede a corner, struck beyond the far post as the flag kick from Chris Ferdinand appeared to be going out of play.
