ALBION are hoping to top the Third Division chart next season, with a little help from Hove pop star Fatboy Slim.

Brighton-based record label Skint are among the companies interested in replacing the Seagulls' current shirt sponsors Donatello.

Their No. 1 player is DJ Norman Cook, who has enjoyed a string of hits under the name Fatboy Slim.

ASkint spokesman revealed: "We approached the club last season and we have approached them again.

"We haven't spoken to them properly yet. There is a rumour going around that the deal has been done, but that is way ahead of the game. We will probably talk to the club at the end of the season."

Nick Rowe, Albion's general manager, said: "We are discussing next season with interested parties and we hope to make an announcement in a couple of weeks.

"We had some talks with Skint last season, which did not come to fruition. I can't discuss whether we've had further talks since then."

Skint is a key player in the modern dance music scene and home to several acts often referred to as the "Brighton sound". Cook ties the knot with Radio 1 DJ Zoe Ball in a high-profile marriage in Brighton, soon after the start of the new football season.

He is the label's biggest success and Fatboy Slim track Santa Cruz was Skint's first release in March 1995.

The label was formed as an offshoot of Brighton record company Loaded, founded in the early Nineties.

Skint's roster of acts was built up by DJ and former journalist Damian Harris, who uses the recording name Midfield General.
