Albion will be without SIX players for Saturday's showdown against Leyton Orient after an injury to goalkeeper Mark Walton.

The big Welshman hurt a hamstring in last Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Southend.

It has not responded to treatment, so Mark Ormerod takes his place again between the posts.

Ormerod was pulled out of last night's reserve match against Charlton.

Walton joins long-term ankle injury victims Jeff Minton and Rod Thomas on the sideline, plus suspended trio Ian Culverhouse, Gary Hart and Paul Sturgess.

His absence is the latest twist in a topsy-turvy battle with Ormerod for the No.1 spot.

Walton played the first 16 matches following his £20,000 summer move from Fulham. Ormerod took over from him in October, but Walton regained his place when Ormerod went down with flu and has figured in the last five games since Jeff Wood took charge.

The Seagulls' crippling casualty list could also mean places in the squad for long-time absentees Peter Smith and Gary Hobson for the Orient clash, along with Tony Browne and Kerry Mayo.

New signing Lawrence Davies is a certainty for his full home debut upfront in place of Hart.
