A CYCLIST was dragged more than 80 metres along the Brighton bypass after an accident with a van.
The van driver continued along the bypass, near the A23 turn off, before realising what had happened.
Ken Moffat, 42, of New Barn Close, Portslade, became caught in the back of the van and suffered spinal injuries.
He was taken to Brighton's Royal Sussex County Hospital, where his condition was described as poorly.
Horrified motorists swerved to avoid hitting Mr Moffat and two vehicles collided.
Van driver Barbara Plumford, 64, of Falmer Road, Brighton, was not injured.
