ANDY Ansah has rejoined Albion on a one-year contract.

The experienced striker was released by the Seagulls at the end of last season.

Boss Brian Horton hasn't been able to find a better replacement at the right price, so Ansah has been given a second chance.

"Technically I was given a free, but I knew I would be speaking to the gaffer again before pre-season," he said.

"There was still a chance that I was going to get a contract and I'm very pleased that I have.

"I think Brighton are going to do things this season."

Ansah was not under contract last term when he scored three goals in 13 games for Albion, including one which helped Horton to a winning start against Chester.

"He did well, but I was bringing new faces in," Horton explained. "I've had a good look around and Andy is as good as what we could get. He can score goals and he can play in different positions."

Former Charlton and Brentford midfielder Michael Bennett has been offered a trial by Albion and will report for pre-season training with the rest of the players on Wednesday.
