Closing the Princess Royal accident and emergency department to major trauma is a mistake.
As a sister in A&E for 20 years, I can assure readers many patients will not survive the journey to Brighton's A&E department.
If a good friend of mine had had to endure the journey after sustaining a multiple trauma a couple of years ago, he would not be here now.
This news, coupled with the trivial rubbish people often call an ambulance out for, makes me fear for the future of our emergency services.
