Former Crawley Town pair Mo Harkin and Sean Hankin are among five new signings announced by Lewes.

The duo will be joined at the Dripping Pan next season by one-time France under-21 striker Jean-Michel Sigere, former Peterborough defender Dean Hooper and Gravesend goalkeeper Paul Wilkerson.

Rooks boss Steven King said: "All these players are from the next level up. They are all still at a decent age and they are hungry for success.

"We have sold the club to them, sold them our ambitions and clearly outlined what direction the club is going in.

"We finished fourth last season which showed we can compete in the Conference south. With these signings we have shown we want to be there again next year."

Winger Harkin, a former Northern Ireland under-21 international, joins Lewes from Forest Green, who he left Crawley for last March, while defender Hankin, who started with Crystal Palace and also played League football for Torquay, left the Reds at the end of last season.

Sigere started at Bordeaux before joining Rushden and Diamonds. He arrives at Lewes from Gravesend, who had offered the big front man full-time terms for next season.

Hooper, who is a versatile defender, has joined from St Albans while Wilkerson has spent seven seasons in the Conference National with Slough, Stevenage and Gravesend.

King was yesterday locked in talks with two more potential signings.

He has also announced that Stuart Cash, who was assistant manager at Aldershot, will join him as No. 2 next season. As a player, Cash was with Nottingham Forest and Wycombe.

Nine of last year's squad have already been offered new terms for next season while a number of others, including Barrington Belgrave and Craig Dobson, have been invited back for pre-season training.

The only confirmed departures are Barry Moore, who has joined AFC Wimbledon, and former Fulham striker Luke Cornwall.

Eastbourne Borough have signed defender Phil Warner permanently after he was released by Aldershot.

Warner had a three-month loan spell at Borough at the end of last season.

Former Leyton Orient and Millwall defender Danny Chapman has left the club by mutual consent.
