A swanky warehouse apartment has gone on the market offering a slice of pop star glamour in a suburban Sussex street.

Former Morcheeba lead singer Skye Edwards has moved out of her warehouse home in Southwick, which is now on the market offering a Californian lifestyle on the Sussex coast.

The house is upside down, with bedrooms on the ground floor and an open plan lounge and kitchen upstairs.

There is an upstairs bedroom or office with an en suite bathroom and the master bedroom has its own tub and sink, so the person having a wash can chat to the person in the bed.

Ms Edwards also had a 30ft wardrobe in the downstairs corridor where she kept her stage costumes but this was removed when she left.

Neighbour Sylvia Lemoniates has lived opposite the house for 25 years. She was sad to see Ms Edwards, her husband Justin and her two children move out.

She said: "It's a real shame. They were a really nice couple. I've been in the house a couple of times and it's a beautiful place.

"She was a nice person, very easy to talk to. I would have liked her to stay longer because they were only here for a couple of years."

Current owner Jeremy Farrow bought the house in March and had dreams of improving it with a fitted glass staircase and a roof garden.

He said he would love to stay but is too short of capital to follow through with the plans. He said: "It's a real party house and I've loved living here. You could see this house being in Los Angeles or Miami."

Mr Farrow, who runs a sandwich shop and rents out flats, is moving to a more conventional home in Shoreham.

Estate agent Jeremy Bladon said Ms Edwards had sold the house and bought a £750,000 property in Kingston-upon-Thames because she could no longer commute to London for her recording career.
