Last year, this national competition to get gals grabbing the microphones off the lads and prove they can be just as funny was won by Brighton-based Zoe Lyons.

It launched the local funny lady, who also starred on reality show Survivor, on to the comedy circuit and she has since been touring and performing all over the show with her bold, brash and pacy act.

This year's search for the next Zoe starts in her home town, before various heats travel all over the country.

It will be compered by established Aussie comedienne Julia Morris and is the perfect opportunity to catch tomorrow's acts at yesterday's prices.

The night will feature ten different acts who have three years' or less experience striving for the final at London's Comedy Store on July 4. Visit http://www.funnywomen.com.

Starts 6.30pm, tickets cost £6/£4. Call 01273 647100.
