Lee Newman scored his 100th goal for Lewes as the Rooks eased into the semi-finals of the Sussex Senior Cup with a 7-1 win away to County League side Oakwood.

Newman struck in the 90th minute and was then promptly booked for removing his shirt to reveal a T-shirt with "100 not out" written on it.

While Newman reached a landmark, new team-mate Lee Farrell also had a night to remember.

Farrell, signed last week from East Preston, scored twice on his debut, the opener with his first touch after coming on as substitute. Craig Dobson chipped in with a hat-trick and Kirk Watts also found the net.

Oakwood, who only trailed 1-0 at half-time, replied through a Zak Newman shot which Michael Harvey turned into his own net.

Lewes manager Steven King said: "Lee Newman could have had four or five and he scored the most difficult one.

"He is a top boy. I have worked with him for two years and this year things have clicked. He realises where he wants to be and what he wants to do."
