East Preston boss Mark Chaplin believes striker Lee Farrell can be a success in the Conference.

The prolific Farrell joined Lewes at the weekend after scoring regularly in four seasons with EP including 14 goals from 20 starts this season.

Chaplin said: "I think he has the ability and if he gets the service he will always score goals.

"He will have to be careful with the disciplinary side because he is going to get pushed about a bit more but if he works hard he should be a success at that level."

EP had to come from behind to beat struggling East Grinstead after Drew Cooney headed the visitors in front from a free-kick.

Matt Huckett scrambled in a 43rd-minute equaliser and Chaplin's decision to play three up front late on paid off when substitute Dave Walker curled the winner in off a post.

Only two other matches survived the cold snap with Eastbourne Town easing to a 3-0 victory over relegation-threatened Pagham at the Saffrons.

Steve King and Danny Andrews finished off flowing moves to put Town in control by half-time and Gary Brockwell returned after injury to poach the third in the last minute.

Sidlesham are still 11 points adrift at the bottom after losing 2-1 at home to Southwick.

Crowborough are one win away from promotion from division two after beating Saltdean 4-0.
