I am applying to become an assistant to your building design firm, Mr Gehry. Like Brad Pitt, I have no formal architectural training or expertise but am a dab hand with a glue stick.
Unlike him, however, I am not a Hollywood superstar. Though I do live around the corner from the site of the proposed King Alfred development.
As you may recall, the King Alfred development started off as a scheme to update a fading sports centre.
It has now taken on a life of its own, going from GuggenHove to a forest of tower blocks which will surely rival Croydon. I notice the two models shown in Saturday's Argus are completely different from each other.
I also see neither bears any resemblance to your first design, which won the competition.
I wonder if, like me, you believe Brighton and Hove City Council are so desperate for you to design an iconic building to put Hove on the global map they have given you a blank sheet of paper?
What a fantastic opportunity. We look forward to seeing what you and Brad will come up with next.
-Stephen Young, Hove
