Where Tony Ward gives only three options facing the Albion (Letters, December 18), I am sure supporters will add a few more. I will make a single observation.

Selling our best assets - Harding will probably go next - will result in relegation and subsequent loss of revenue.

In recent years, we have had opportunities to develop a real championship side (Sidwell, Currie, Cullip, Barrett). Such chances continue to pass us by.

It is time real money arrived at boardroom level if we are ever to push through the events needed to change the Albion.

Perhaps Sullivan at Birmingham City is looking for another club. If we alerted the world that our chairmanship and other boardroom positions were available, we could all rest easier in our beds.

Controversial? Realistic? But it has to be faced and discussed. How badly do Albion supporters want to be back in the top flight?

West Ham in recent years have lost Defoe, Johnson, Ferdinand, Lampard, Cole, Carrick and so forth. Are they better off as a result? Even at this festive season there is no sentiment in business.
