Steve Claridge today warned Albion have a fight on their hands to claim their first home win in the Championship for six weeks.

Rock-bottom Rotherham recorded their first victory of the season on Monday against Leeds, who were also the Seagulls' last victims at Withdean back in October.

Claridge, poised to start with Leon Knight up front for the first time tomorrow, said: "Anybody who thinks it is going to be easy is sadly mistaken. I've watched Rotherham a couple of times this season and it will be extremely tough.

"Everybody will be expecting us to win, but it doesn't just happen like that. They are big, physical, well-organised and hard-working.

"The struggle they are having this season emphasises what a good manager Ronnie Moore is. Realistically, they should have been in this position in every previous year they have been in the First Division."

Claridge, 38, and Albion boss Mark McGhee have mixed memories of meeting the Millers from their time together at Millwall two seasons ago.

McGhee's Lions were routed 6-0 at home on the opening day, a defeat they avenged four months later with a 3-1 win away and a goal for Claridge.

"Being beaten like that in front of the Millwall fans makes you understand stick and pressure," Claridge said. "It was one of those days when everything went wrong.

"We went up there and beat them, which was nice. I'd certainly settle for that tomorrow. It's imperative we don't lose, although I don't think anyone is looking at it like that."
