Residents of Park Street, Queen's Park, Brighton, have faced growing competition for parking spaces from commuters, shoppers and visitors for years, so there is some support for the controlled parking zone which is being brought in next March .
But 14 existing parking spaces are to be removed from the street - why? And why remove 11 spaces on the west side of the street instead of the three on the east?
Why were the traffic orders published in August when many residents were on holiday? And why is the only plan of the parking scheme on Brighton and Hove City Council's web site months out of date?
It is not too late to modify the scheme. More parking spaces mean more parking permits and more revenue for the council.
