Councillor Paul Elgood's letter (November 20) regarding Hove Conservative Club is so full of inaccuracies I hardly know where to start.
The planning application he referred to is, as far as I am aware, to convert the upper floors of this large building for residential use.
It has not come before the planning committee, which consists of elected councillors. It was refused by planning officers under delegated powers, as 90 per cent of all applications are.
I suggest long-serving Coun Elgood speaks to the current Leader of the Lib Dems, who sits on the planning committee, as it is clear he does not understand the basics of the planning system in our city.
He has for some reason jumped the gun on this issue in an apparent attempt to introduce party politics into the planning system, egged on no doubt by his Labour cronies.
He has failed miserably yet again.
