I must respond to Jan Melrose's article regarding the road improvements which have been made to the A23 (The Argus, November 25).
Do protesters not realise how the cycle lanes have added to the safety of the cyclists who regularly use this route (all eight of them)? They are nearly as important as those used by both regular users in Dyke Road.
Since local residents are worried about the safety of pedestrians, I would suggest a further judicious expenditure of council tax on Selma Montford bumps in the cycle lanes.
