Worthing Thunder's trip to the steel city ended in heartbreak as they lost 88-87 in overtime to City of Sheffield in the National Cup semi finals.
David Butterworth put Thunder 87-85 up with 6.5 seconds to play but 32-point Ryan Patten won it for Sheffield with a three on the buzzer.
Thunder skipper Gaylon Moore forced overtime at 77-77 with a buzzer-beater of his own, though Worthing felt he was fouled as he shot which would have given him one free throw with which to win the game.
Moore had 22 points and 16 rebounds, Steve Gayle 28 points and Steve Parillon 19 points plus 20 boards.
Parillon hit 36 points as Thunder beat Solent 100-94 in the League on Saturday.
