Brighton went top of South Premier division two for the first time this season after a weekend goal blitz.

They followed a 7-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday with a 5-0 success away to Maidenhead in a rearranged match yesterday.

Their two wins lifted Brighton above Sevenoaks on goal difference and helped put successive draws behind them.

On target against Bournemouth were Craig Carolan (2), Mark Sully (2), Ricky Fraser, Stuart Dunbar and Gareth Lendrum.

Player-coach Carolan scored four more yesterday to make it 25 for the season and Dan Hore, a late call-up, capped victory with a wonder strike late on.

Chichester slipped to fourth after a 2-2 draw at Tulse Hill and Dulwich where Adam Beere scored twice.

In National premier three, rock bottom Lewes lost 4-2 at Havant. Trailing 4-0 at half-time, Carl Wright and Ryan Standing scored in the second half while Lee Wiles missed a penalty flick.

In the Kent/Sussex Regional League, Eastbourne lost 4-1 in their top-of-the-table clash with leaders Blackheath, Dom Barnes scoring.

Worthing have now gone second after fighting back from 3-1 down to draw 3-3 at Ashford. Goals came from Bryan Lock, Ahmed Ramiz and David Edmondson.

Mark Livesey and Andy Green netted as Mid Sussex beat Tunbridge Wells 2-0 while Stuart Donaldson and Ian Brown scored for Horsham, who lost 3-2 to BBHC. In division one, Des Smith got the only goal as South Saxons won 1-0 at Crowborough.

Southwick lost 5-2 to Gillingham Anchorians despite goals from Kieron Smith and Ollie Smith, while Kieran Fuller and Brendan McAuley scored as Crawley lost 4-2 to Old Williamsonians.
