Southwick continued their charge up the division one table after beating basement boys Sidlesham 4-1 with goals from Carl Dunk (2), Jon Donoghue and James Rhodes.

Wickers manager Mark Burt said: "We're now 11 games unbeaten and we haven't lost since October 3.

"However, we were poor against Sidlesham. It's the same story that you've heard 50 times before.

"They came to us bottom of the league and we drummed it in to the players that you can't take anything for granted, but for the first 20 minutes they controlled the game.

"The good thing is we look like scoring every time we go forward. It's not bad when you can be poor and score four.

"At the start of the season we were dominating games but not scoring. Now we are and that's the big difference. It gives us confidence for our game with Bognor tomorrow in the Senior Cup."

While the defeat leaves Sidlesham in deep trouble, Three Bridges picked up a 2-0 win over Eastbourne United which was all the more pleasing for Sammy Donnelly as the goals came from left fullback Stefan Chapman and skipper Lee Butcher.

Donnelly said: "It was good we managed to get three points instead of a draw for once. That's been our problem if you look at our results, we have drawn too many games."

Sidley also gave their season a shot in the arm with a 4-1 victory over hosts Pagham in which Keith Miles bagged a hat-trick and late substitute Ian Oliver also netted his first senior goal for the club.

Pagham had Lee Stevens sent off at 2-1 for a late challenge.

Sidley co-manager Andy Laskey said: "We were winning 2-1 when they had a player dismissed but we played well and I don't think it would have made a difference to the result. It was also great for Miles to get a hat-trick."

Worthing United boss Ian Browne felt it was two points dropped after a 2-2 draw with Littlehampton.

He said: "It was a tale of two penalties. We felt we should have had one when Dave Schneider was brought down while they equalised with a dubious penalty in the last minutes when Daren Pearce broke through."

East Grinstead came from behind to beat Chichester 3-1 and ease their own relegation fears.

Olamide Dedegbe punished poor defending to put the champions ahead, but Kris Trevor scored his 11th of the season and defender Paul Davies and substitute Dave Gellatly also netted.

Boss Bob Smith said: "We started poorly, but once we equalised the confidence came flooding into the side."

Redhill had a good 4-2 win at Hailsham with Luke Jones and Justin Jones getting a brace apiece as they came from 2-0 down.
