Haywards Heath boss Wally Petty is confident of getting a team out for tomorrow's game with Bexhill United.

Once-proud Heath, who are now bottom of division three, had to call off last week's Mid Sussex Senior Cup tie with Newick because they could not raise a side.

But Petty, the club's third manager of the season, insists the club will not fold.

Four players were signed last week but their registrations were not received in time for the Newick game. Other new faces are in the pipeline including a possible return for Nigerian striker Francis Kumbur.

Petty said: "I am confident of getting a full team and substitutes out against Bexhill. There was a problem with registering players last week but hopefully it was just a one-off."

Former St Leonards and Three Bridges boss Micky Taylor has joined as assistant manager and he is expected to bring some players with him.

Steyning Town have appointed Mark Dalgleish as manager in succession to Mick Barry who quit last week due to work commitments.

East Preston have signed former Ringmer goalkeeper Darren Prior to provide cover for Andy McCarthy, who has a back injury and is also facing a suspension.

East Grinstead Town have signed Hailsham forward Simon Tadman.

Ringmer are without strikers Dominic Shepherd and Andy Agutter for tomorrow's trip to Selsey because they are Christmas shopping in New York.

Three Bridges hope to have forwards Gavin Jones and Pat Massaro back for tomorrow's trip to Eastbourne United.

Sidley have put in a seven-day approach for Littlehampton's Liam Barham and are trying to sign Scott Price from Hastings United.
